Who is responsible
Buildiverse is run by Keldric, which is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@buildiverse.space.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time link.
- Company profile. The name, description, categories, website and logo you enter. These are shown publicly on your planet.
- Payments. Handled by Stripe. We store the payment status and what was bought. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
- Visibility statistics. Counts of how often a planet is seen, opened and clicked. Each browser tab gets a random id that is deleted when the tab is closed. We do not store IP addresses and do not use cookies for this.
- Reactions and deals. Reactions are counted once per planet, kind and day. For this, your device keeps a random id that is not linked to you or your account. To stop automated reactions, the server also keeps a scrambled code made from your network (IP) address for at most two days; the address itself is never stored. Games played and codes unlocked, copied or used on a planet's deal are counted the same way as the visibility statistics.
- Explorer counter. To show how many have visited, the server stores your device's random id (the same one as for reactions) with the first and latest day it visited, so each device is counted once. It is not linked to you or your account. To stop automated counting, it keeps the same kind of scrambled network code as for reactions, for at most two days. While the site is open, the random id is also shared in a live channel to show how many explorers are on the site right now; that is not stored.
- Site visits. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to the site: the page, the site you came from, country and region, device type, operating system and browser. It uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses. A visit is recognised by a scrambled code made from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. We only see the totals.
- Rocket Run competition. If you take part, we store your player name and, for each run you enter, the score, level, rings, asteroids, length and time. Your player name and best score of the week are shown publicly on the leaderboard. The recording of the rocket's steering is only used to check the run and is not kept. For each week's winner we keep the player, the score and the prize code. Your account's email address is never shown.
- Feedback. When you use the Feedback button we store your message, your email address if you add one (only to reply to you), which planet was open, and, if you are signed in, your account and company. To stop automated messages, the server keeps the same kind of scrambled network code as for reactions, for at most two days.
Why
To provide the service you sign up for: your account, your planet and its statistics, and to handle payments and the bookkeeping the law requires.
Where the data is stored
The database and logos are stored with Supabase in Stockholm, Sweden. The website is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the visit statistics. Payments are processed by Stripe. These providers act on our behalf.
How long
Account and profile data are kept until you ask us to delete them. Payment records are kept for seven years, as Swedish bookkeeping law requires. Statistics are kept for as long as your company has a planet. The explorer counter keeps each device's random id and its first and latest day of visit for as long as the counter is shown. Feedback is kept for up to two years, or until you ask us to delete it. Rocket Run scores are kept for one year; the list of weekly winners and your player name are kept as long as the competition runs, or until you ask us to delete them.
Browser storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, to save an unfinished planet purchase, to keep the random id used for reactions and the explorer counter, to remember which reactions you gave today and which deal codes you have unlocked, your best score in Rocket Run and a finished run waiting to be entered in the competition, and for settings such as sound. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it is used, by emailing hello@buildiverse.space. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
